Ziplines
If you want to have some adrenaline
inducing, high-flying fun on your Maui vacation experience, try a zipline tour.
The first zipline tour in the United States was started right here in Maui on
the slopes of Haleakala in 2002. Since then the number of tour operators has
grown and there are no less than 6 zipline tours you can take on Maui today.
Over a million people have safely zipped on Maui and that's just with one of
the tour operators!
A zipline tour offers a unique way to see Maui, the
surrounding ocean and islands. All tours offer a blend of adventure sprinkled
with information about Hawaiian culture, plant and animal life. If you've never
experienced ziplining, its a real treat. We've been on all but one tour and
have enjoyed them all.
Listed below in order of distance from the condo
are the current zipline tour operators. We suggest you review each of their
websites to learn more about the tours they offer. Then contact them in advance
to book your tour. Don't wait until you arrive as you may not be able to make a
reservation. One other tip - try to book the first tour of the day as you'll
have less chance of getting wet.

- Flyin Hawaiian Zipline is the newest zipline and
closest to our condo. It offers some very dramatic views of Maui's central
valley, Haleakala and Maalaea Bay. Located in the West Maui Mountains, they
have 8 ziplines ranging from a 200 ft. warm up to the last line which is 3,200
ft. - the longest in North America! In all, you'll be zipping for of 2 miles at
speeds up to 50mph. For more information call (808) 463-5786 or see their
website or Facebook page.
- Piiholo Ranch Zipline opened a nice tour in 2009 on
a ranch above Makawao situated on the slopes of Haleakala. Because it's on a
ranch, you'll see Eucalyptus, native koa, ohia trees, and many indigenous
plants. Piiholo Ranch offers the only zipline on Maui where you can zip side by
side - up to four people! They have the longest side-by-side zipline in the
state of Hawaii!! For more information call (808) 572-1717 or see their website
or Facebook page.
- Northshore Zipline at Kauhikoa Farms in Haiku has
just opened Maui's first Canopy style tour in 2010. A canopy tour takes you
high into the trees where you travel along a network of tree to tree ziplines
and swinging bridges. Nice views of the ocean, tree tops, and upcountry abound
while you travel on 6 ziplines between 250' & 900' in length with speeds up
to 40 mph. For more information call (808) 269-0671 or see their
website.
- Skyline Eco Adventures is the oldest in Maui. They
offer two tours - one on the slopes of Haleakala and the other on the slopes of
the West Maui mountains above Kaanapali and Lahaina. We like the Kaanapali tour
the best of the two as there are more ziplines and they are longer. For more
information call (808) 878-8400 or see their website or Facebook
page.
- Kapalua Adventure Ziplines is located in Kapalua at
the north west end of Maui. There are many differant tours offered by the
company, all above the pineapple fields of the West Maui Mountains. We have not
personally been on this zipline so other than their website, we can't provide
other information. Call (808) 665-3753 or see their website or Facebook
page.
